Company

Pearlash LLC is a limited liability company organised in the United States Virgin Islands. It handles the contract, the shipping and the documents between the manufacturer and the buyer.

The name

The name comes from the first patent issued by the United States. Dated 31 July 1790 and signed by George Washington, it was granted to Samuel Hopkins for an improvement "in the making of Pot ash and Pearl ash by a new Apparatus and Process". Pearl ash is refined potash, potassium carbonate: wood ash leached with water, the lye boiled down in iron kettles, the residue calcined white. It was among the first commodities the new country exported; potash remains a source of potassium for the soil.
